Fairy of the Rose

Best and dearest flower that grows
Perfect both to see and smell
Words can never, never tell
Half the beauty of a rose
Buds that open to disclose
Fold on fold of purest white
Lovely pink, or red that glows
Deep, sweet scented. What delight
To be Fairy of the Rose!

Cicely Mary Barker

The summer was a busy and distracting one
and there is much to share here on my blog
I shall be spending the weekend going through my photos
and visiting dear blog buddies

I hope you have a wonderful weekend
Carolyn ♥

Here's a pebble poem for you. I took it from a birthday card, but I do not know who wrote it. I replaced the words "A BIRTHDAY" with "you Tim" and embroidered it - several years ago!

By the shore lies a pebble,
its beauty shaped by the wind,
its rough edges smoothed by the waters,
its surface polished by time,
turning something ordinary
into something wonderful.
Just as a birthday
turns an ordinary day
in to a special day.

Hope you like it
