red geraniums

she took out her best linen table cloth
smoothed out all the creases
and arranged it neatly on the table

she found her best vase
the one with red geraniums on
and carefully arranged the wild flowers she had picked
on her walk earlier that morning

the table looked lovely set against
the backdrop of her rose tinted wallpaper
she hoped her mother would like the care she had taken

now all she had to do was
bake her mother's favourite cake
and gather together her best rosy cups and saucers

hello ...
it's not all I've been doing today, by the way ;o)
the hearts are almost finished
but I got distracted making beads
I can be a bit "scatty" sometimes

now it's time to bake
till next time ...

Love the tag and it's even more beautiful with the story, a series of these would make a lovely little book.
